Another marriage bites the dust.....Kelis has filed for divorce from Nas. Vibe dropped the news yesterday:

"One of hip hop’s most talked about married couples have split. VIBE has confirmed that Nas and Kelis are headed for a divorce. “I can confirm that she has filed for divorce,” a spokesperson for Kelis told VIBE. “We request the media to respect her privacy during this very difficult time.”

At around 3:45pm PST, high-powered attorney Laura Wasser (who has also represented Britney Spears, Angelina Jolie, and Stevie Wonder) filed a divorce petition today on behalf of Kelis, citing irreconciable differences. Lil Boosie Barred For Assualt Charges

According to local TV station WAFB, Baton Rouge, Louisiana Sheriff officers arrested Lil Boosie on Wednesday (April 22) and charged him with 2nd degree battery.

Police say an unidentified man was assaulted during the April 12 confrontation, after Lil Boosie, Torrance Hatch, accused him of stealing jewelry.

According to police, the man may have been struck with a vase during the brawl.The man was treated for the non-life threatening injuries he sustained.

This is Lil Boosie's second runi in with the law in the past six months.

In October of 2008, the 25-year-old was arrested when East Baton Rouge police arrested him for marijuana possession, possession of a firearm and resisting arrest.

Lil Boosie and his partner Webbie are also the subjects of several multi-million dollar lawsuits, which allege the entertainers took tens of thousands of dollars for performances, but never showed up.

My FAVORITE boss bish, Kelis & her husband Nas are consindering letting you name their son.'I've been thinking about kinda putting something online: 'Choose his name,' ' MC jokes.

Nas told MTV News last week that Kelis is having a healthy pregnancy. The rap legend couldn't stop smiling when talking about his wife.

"She's great, man. She's doing good," Nas said in L.A.

He and K are expecting their first child together (Esco has a daughter from a previous relationship), and the couple are trying to figure out exactly what they should call their heir.

"Yeah, [we are deciding between] a few baby names," Nas said. "It's kinda hard.

"I've been thinking about kinda putting something online: 'Choose his name,' " the Queens legend added with a smile. "You get a couple stacks for that. We take care of you for that. You win something real. But we're thinking now."

Nas was in L.A. with Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley to announce their headlining stint on this year's Rock the Bells tour.

"Rock the Bells understands what the people want," Esco boasted. "They know how to bring all of the people together, and they bring it every year. People are starting to know that. It's starting to be a brand in their minds.

"My most memorable moments on this tour? Seeing how many people out there that want that real," he continued. "It's like hip-hop again. You don't see this genre of music coming together and touring. Rock the Bells are the only people that's really been giving it to you consistently for a couple of years now."

Nas wouldn't say exactly how his and Gong's set would go, but he did say we would see the duo perform their new songs as well as their solo hits.

"You're gonna see us mix it up. It's gonna be right," he promised.

Rock the Bells kicks off in June, the same month the Nas and Marley joint LP Distant Relatives drops.

In an interview with Giant magazine, rapper, Bow Wow confessed his love for Angela Simmons; Whom he was romantically linked to in the past.

"Angela Simmons is the love of my life. She's a young black woman doing something incredible," he said. "She's a CEO of a company at 21 years old and a positive role model for kids."

Even before that comment, rumors ran amuck that Bow bought Angie a red Porsche, amongst other lavish gifts and that the twosome were close to reconciling their relationship. But Ms.Simmons squashed the rumors yesterday on Global Grind in a celebrity blog post.

"I just want to shut down any and all rumors about my relationships, because you know how that can get," Simmons began. On His Drug Addiction

“I wasn’t ready mentally. I wasn’t ready to give up the drugs. I
didn’t really think I had a problem. Basically, I went in, and I came
out. I relapsed, and I spent the next three years struggling with it.
Also, at that time, I felt like I wanted to pull back, because my drug
problem had got so bad. I felt like, Maybe if I take a break, maybe
this will help. I started to get into the producer role more… I can
still be out there with my music, like with the Re-Up album, but I
don’t have to be in the spotlight the whole time.”

On Proof’s Death

“Everyone felt his loss, from his kids, to his wife, to everyone.
But, for some reason, in hindsight, the way I felt was almost like it
happened to just me… Maybe at the time I was a little bit selfish with
it. I think it kind of hit me so hard. It just blindsided me. I just
went into such a dark place that, with everything, the drugs, my
thoughts, everything. And the more drugs I consumed, and it was all
depressants I was taking, the more depressed I became, the more
self-loathing I became… By the way, I’m just now at the point where I’m
better talking about it. It took me so long to get out of that place
where I couldn’t even speak about it without crying or wanting to cry…
Proof was the anchor. He was everything to D12. And not just the
group-for me, personally, he was everything.”

“I stayed up on the music, and obviously I watch TV and saw what was
going on. And without naming any names, it just felt like hip-hop was

Last night, Solange Knowles had an incident on a flight. The R&B songtress passed out. Citing too much Nyquil. Damn girlie what are they putting in Nyquil these days??????

R&B star SOLANGE KNOWLES was admitted to hospital when she collapsed after downing flu pills on a flight out of New York on Tuesday night (17Feb09).
Beyonce’s younger sister was treated by medics after taking the capsules onboard a plane and suffering an adverse reaction to the medication.
Her muddled mental state was laid bare in a series of bizarre postings on social networking website Twitter.com which she uploaded during the journey.
But three hours into the trip, her messages suddenly stopped after she complained of feeling sleepy - and three hours later she logged back on to the website to tell fans: “Woaah…… How’d I end up in the hospital?”
Knowles is believed to have been heading back to her home in Los Angeles after attending the opening of an Armani store in New York on Tuesday evening.

Immediately after coming back to a clear state of mind Solange posted these twits(twitter post) about the incident:

“I’ve never passed out before. S**t was like the movies. People standing over me saying ‘hello’… My mom is the best. LOL (laugh out loud). She’s like ‘Ain’t nothing wrong with this girl, she need some water and rest… Pull up the car!’ LOL
“I’m like still in shock. I’ve never passed out before. Think it was the nyquil too. I felt weird when I woke up. This has been the day from hell. I’m done with the second IV. I just want to get in the bed and lay with (son) Julez. That’s all I want.
The singer later confirmed she had been released following treatment, writing: “I’m out! yay!… they let me go….. Rest. Water. Rest. Water.”

For the March 2009 Issue of GQ, the magazine took the liberty of interviewing its 10 most stylish men. On the list were hip hop's elite Kanye West, T.I. and Justin Timberlake. (Yes J.T. is Hip Hop-->In case you didn't catch him on BET!) And each of them gave style tips to the Swagg Impaired.

“At photo shoots, people are always tryingto put that fucking Day-Glo suit on me: ‘Kanye West is gonna wear this Day-Glo suit.’ No, Kanye West is not! I might wear a Day-Glo pocket square. Or socks. But I’m a normal human being! Kanye West is not your hanger. With this outfit here, I wasn’t trying to say anything—it’s just what appealed to me. It’s instinct: color. Fabric. The way it feels on you. I feel like the outfit was a 95 percenter. I had on the mid-cut Common Projects. This is my FIRST Chrihanna Post.....not for lack of interest but because NO ONE knows the Truth. And I believe there are always 3 sides to any story- His, Hers & the Truth.

Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God’s help, to emerging a better person. In my efforts to assist the entire Hip Hop Nation to gravitate towards Twitter, I forgot to issue twitter etiquette. And due to my forgetfulness, an up and coming artist has been caught in the cross- DC's own, Wale.

Twitter is a free social messaging utility for staying connected in real-time. <-That's there definition. For me Twitter is a way of thinking out loud with the world, or a select few, watching. It is the answer to the question- What are you doing? However, in the wrong hands your random thoughts on a public platform can be a bad idea, as Wale learned.

I'm going to set the tone for us, so I won't be seen as bias. Imagine your a new artist- you've toured over seas, have a publicist on both coast, and have been flooded with interviews recently. Some redundant and some refreshingly entertaining but at any rate because you have done this so much it becomes more like a job to you.
Now your preparing for your 9th interview of the day- what do you do? DUH!!! Twit your thoughts! And that's exactly what Wale did before his interview with well known UK Disc Jockey, DJ Semtex.

The only problem was- DJ Semtex was following Wale on twitter, so he received the twit before the interview!

A friend of Grant's who was with him on the crowded Oakland train station platform at the time of the shooting said Grant pleaded with officers not to harm him.

"Oscar yelled, 'You shot me! I got a four-year-old daughter,"' said Fernando Anicete. "Oscar was telling us to calm down and we did. We weren't looking for any trouble."

Anicete was among more than 50 people attending a tearful news conference in Oakland on Sunday where Grant's family announced they planned to file a $25 million claim against the Bay Area Rapid Transit agency this week. A claim is the first step in the process of suing the agency.

The family's attorney John Burris said the shooting was intentional, and that he planned to ask Alameda County prosecutors to seek criminal charges against the officer. Burris said Grant, of Hayward, Calif., posed no threat to officers when a bullet entered his back and ricocheted to his lung area, killing him almost instantly.

"The officer leaned (in), was straddling over him and pointed his gun directly into the backside and shot (Grant)," said Burris, adding that Grant was handcuffed -- after he was shot. "This was not a deadly force situation."

For the past few months I've been contemplating a list of artist who are going to have a great year in 2009. I've reviewed list from XXL & a few other places and I feel as if they are lacking what the streets are really listening to. I feel those list are overly mainstream. The artist I've selected have mainstream potential and are developing quite a following. Some of these artist are signed, some are indie, but all of them are just different! I've been calling this list My Co-Sign for 2K9, but now, after a careful look and listen, we're going to call them The New Era. Each of The New Era acts have a distint sound and style that is lacking from the hip hop scene. Let me throw this disclaimer out there, because I know alot of singers, rappers, or entatiners, and very few made my co-sign- not for lack of talent but because my definition of an artist/star is so different. Everyone can sing, everyone can rap, everyone can write but very few have a prescence with in their craft that can create a movement. The New Era consist of artist that have a star-like prescence, to me. They have mastered their craft to a point that they can do what your favorite singer/rapper can, but better. So without out further adeau and in no particular order- The New Era.

Keyshia Cole discusses she and Jeezy's relationship in an interview with Angie Martinez. In a previous interview Jeezy made the following allegations:

Keyshia asked me to marry her, bought me a ring and everything. She not gonna tell you different, I was grown enough to tell her, ‘Look baby, that isn’t what it is right now. I’m trying to get my sh*t together. I’m trying to get my money, take care of me and mine.To be honest, it was more what she wanted. She was cool and we had a cool friendship. The media made it out to be something crazy.”

But Keyshia quickly clarified things.

Today is one the most eventful days. So I've been youtube-ing and came up with some irrelevant but interesting ish.

Don't call it a comeback...three R&B songtress', all labeled as one hit wonders are slating for Spring 2009 release dates for their upcoming albums.

Christina Milian, who covers 1/2 of this months, flip issue, of Rap Up is set to release her forth project via Myspace Records.
I so didn't know she had three albums.....pssp..2 were over seas though!

Letoya Luckett will be following up with her sophmore LP- Lady Love.

And Tierra Mari is attepmting to break back on the scene. Check out her new single- "Built For This"

Of the three, I am really hoping T.Mari has better luck this time. I am still rockin "U Said".
