I know so many of you are more than likely coming here for Inauguration. Just so everyone knows DC is going straight New Orleans for Inauguration. So come stumble through the streets drunk with a sister!

In a semi-unpopular decision, The D.C. Council approved emergency legislation yesterday evening that will allow District bars, nightclubs and restaurants to serve alcohol until 5 a.m. -- three hours later than usual -- and remain open for food around the clock from Jan. 17 until the morning after Obama's swearing-in Jan. 20.

On the opposing team was Phil Mendelson (D-At Large):

"I know a lot of people are excited about the inauguration and I share that excitement," Mendelson said. "But there are very few people I know of out partying at 5 in the morning or 4 in the morning who aren't getting drunk. I think there are going to be consequences to that from a public safety and public order point of view. It's not a good policy to be supporting."

On a normal week, bars and nightclubs can serve alcohol until 2 a.m. on weekdays and until 3 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The only day the city regularly extends normal drinking hours is Jan. 1, when bars are allowed to keep serving alcohol until 4 a.m.

Well Mr. Mendelson, and everyone else in opposition...I consinder myself a professional at this partying til the sunrise thing and honestly, I've never done it sober but I've never caused a problem either. So as they say back home Le Bon Temps Roule , Let The Good Times Roll.

President-elect Barack Obama has named his one-time political rival, New York Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, as his secretary of state. Clinton is expected to resign her Senate seat to prepare to lead U.S. foreign policy in the latest chapter in her long career.

"She is an American of tremendous stature who will have my complete confidence, who knows many of the world's leaders, who will command respect in every capitol, and who will clearly have the ability to advance our interests around the world," Obama said, adding that her appointment was "a sign to friend and foe of the seriousness of my commitment to renew American diplomacy and restore our alliances."

Obama also announced his intention to keep current Defense Secretary Robert Gates in his post. The president-elect also said he would nominate Susan Rice as ambassador to the United Nations, retired Marine Gen. James Jones as his national security adviser, Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano as homeland security director and Eric Holder as attorney general.

For many democrats, todays selections are seen as The Political Dream Team.

It is indeed a new day!! For some reason this, of all things, seemed so far fetched and distant. But I am elated to say I was Pro Obama even when it wasn't popular...But ya'll can jump on the bandwagon!

Weeks ago Wendy Williams yapped on & on about how she had a sex tape featuring a certain rappers wife...but without the rapper- and that she would sell it to the highest bidder. Everyone knew it was Kelis...

The video supposedly shows a sleeping Kelis just after her and underground songwriter/rapper Infared(<-Who??) had sex. On top of just filming Kelis, Infared films a monologue to the camera going at rapper Nas saying "Handle your mother f#*king business. I got your b*&ch here, she getting naked." Infared is also claiming that the encounter took place sometime in before she married Nas in 2005. However other sources are claiming that the encounter took place sometime in late 2006/early 2007.

Infrared, tells Hip Hop Weekly that he enjoyed an “encounter” with Kelis but did not reveal any details about the alleged tape.

“I knew Kelis in the hip hop world, and from clubbin’, hanging out,” said Infrared. “I heard that [sex tape] rumor. I don’t know [if she was married’. She wasn’t wearing a wedding ring.”

So there's what we know..you be your own judge...Did Kelis cheat on Nas and let some dude keep the footage? Or was this before she was married?

I'm a Kelis fan so....I think Infrared is pulling off a wack ass publicity stunt.

According to NahRight.com, the song was recorded by Nas and DJ Green Lantern last night (November 3) in Oslo, Norway.

The timely nature of the song is evidenced by Nas referencing Obama's grandmother dying of cancer a day before election day saying that the Democratic candidate "aint even got time to weep."

Every generation has its movements and its motivators--> This is ours! Our great grand parents had Megar Evans, G.W. Carver. Our grand parents had Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X. And our parents had Al Sharpton(BOO)....well they had the opportunity to elect some of the first black mayors in to office in major cities- Carl B. Stokes- Cleveland, Dutch & Marc Morial-New Orleans, Maynard Jackson Jr.- Atlanta. The point is, we all have causes that are relevant an unforgettable that transcend time and electing the FIRST African American into presidency is ours. Not only because he's black, but because he is qualified, he's a democrat and the other option on the ballot..well lets just say--it's too much of the same ol politics.

Qualifications:
A graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School, where he served as president of the Harvard Law Review, Obama worked as a community organizer and practiced as a civil rights attorney before serving three terms in the Illinois Senate from 1997 to 2004. He taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School from 1992 to 2004.

He's a democrat...sorry the nation has failed miserably as an all republican nation for six years (Both house were majority republican for that amount of time plus the republican wack job we call a president which = a republican nation). And we won't even speak on the destruction that having 8 years under a republican president has caused- how many lives destroyed by greed, war and stupidity!

This is my "Go Barack" post. And believe it or not--> I am in good company!
