We've seen some interesting Internet feuds over the past few months:
Ciara vs. Sandra Rose
Sandra Rose vs. Necole Bitchie
Omarosa vs. TheYbf
Eff Yo Blog vs. EVERYBODY
Concrete Loop vs Sandra Rose
Gyant(SOHH) vs. Sandra Rose
(Gosh, SR has made that list quite a few times...*side eye*-->Hater in disguise? Or Hated?)
But none has been as interesting as Kanye West vs The YBF!!! Why? Because celebrities are often put on a hypothetical pedistool...or seem as if they are worlds away from reality. So, for ten-time Grammy Award-winning Rapper/Producer/ Singer Kanye West to single out a site, and respond to them is, at the very least, entertaining.
Kanye is infamous for being opinionated and outspoken, however I wouldn't expect him to respond to media that isn't considered to be mainstream.
I personally love Kanye and TheYBF.
Kanye for being authentic and true to himself even when its not so cool to be. For saying what so many of us were thinking about George Bush. For not living or working with in the box->YOU say he's a RAPPER, HE lives as an artist...and artist express themselves through their craft.
The YBF because, in my opinion, the entertainment industry doesn't always give OUR people a voice, eye or ear. If it wasn't for YBF, many of us wouldn't have known OUR people were even in attendance at certain events. Because the only time OUR people make it on ACCESS HOLLYWOOD, or ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT, or TMZ.com, or even MTV.com most times is when we're acting a fool. Kudos to Natasha- a fellow New Orleanian- for showing the glamourous side of Black Hollywood.
But with that being said here's the play by play:
Kanye has been in the spotlight quite a bit this week-->from an urban blogger's perspective:
808's & Heartbreak sustained major leakage
Def Jam Conference Call (where he compared Rihanna to Beyonce, music to suicide)
The Fader 50th issue cover was released
Multiple intimate Kanye interviews surfaced
Kanye was Arrested
So its safe to say that this was a week full of Kanye-isms.
Being one of the leading black entertainment blogs YBF posted 70% of the stories.
Kanye responds with B*tch Bogus
I CAN DEAL WITH PEOPLE TALKIN SHIT FROM AN OUTSIDE PERSPECTIVE BUT YOUR JOURNALISM SEEMS PARTICULARLY INTRUSIVE AND MALICIOUS. YOU WOULD WRITE STUFF LIKE HEY I BET SUCH AND SUCH DOESN'T KNOW ABOUT SUCH AND SUCH. NOW THAT'S JUST BOGUS! I'D RATHER YOU CALL ME NAMES THEN FOR YOU TO INTENTIONALLY TRY TO HURT THE PEOPLE AROUND ME. I'M A REAL PERSON AND SEEMS AS IF THEY HAVE AN AGENDA TO MAKE PEOPLE WHO DON'T KNOW ME HATE ME AS WELL AS PEOPLE WHO DO. THERE HAS BEEN SO MANY LIES POSTED ON THIS SITE IT'S CRAZY. I NEVER MADE OUT WITH RIHANNA etc.. YEAH I SAID SHE HELPED PUSH BEYONCE BUT I ALSO WENT ON TO SAY THAT BEYONCE'S LAST VIDEO WAS ONE OF THE BEST OF ALL TIME. THE PRESS, IN GENERAL, MISUSE QUOTES TO TRY TO MAKE ME LOOK LIKE A MONSTER SO IT'S NOT JUST THEM. I WANNA KNOW WHAT I DID SO BAD TO YOU TO MAKE YOU WANT TO DESTROY ME. I AM BEING STRONG IN THIS TIME WHERE SOME NIGHTS I CAN BARELY MAKE IT ON STAGE BUT PEOPLE LIKE YOU MAKE IT HARD. IF ANYTHING, THIS WILL GIVE YOU SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT WHEN YOU GO TO SLEEP AT NIGHT.
The YBF responds with he say/we say:
I NEVER MADE OUT WITH RIHANNA etc.. YEAH I SAID SHE HELPED PUSH BEYONCE BUT I ALSO WENT ON TO SAY THAT BEYONCE’S LAST VIDEO WAS ONE OF THE BEST OF ALL TIME.
We included in our post that you said Beyonce killed it in the “Single Ladies” video. You can check it for yourself here. We also didn’t make up the rumor about you and Rihanna–that was another site and we even included the source for it.
Awww. I’m sure there’s plenty of chicks without an agenda ready and willing to wipe Mr. West down. His tears of loneliness I mean….
And you basically called us cruel. We were actually offering a compliment. Our loyal and regular readers get our humor and got what we were saying–and knew it was a compliment since we’ve always been fans. Not sure how this could even be seen as a put-down actually.
My personal opinion is this; with fame comes many things and there is no "How To" manual in life. I think Kanye needs a break from the spotlight.
And...Journalist should write as if the world is reading! Including the subject of your piece-->Words have the power to build us up or tear us down.
Are bloggers too insensitive? Or has the cost of fame taken its toll on Kanye?
