First Ms.Kelly drops Matthew Knowles as her manager. Now, she and Columbia "amicably" depart ways.

“The Grammy-winning R&B/pop superstar Kelly Rowland will no longer be recording with Columbia Records as a solo artist, it was officially announced today by the label.

Rowland, a founding member of Destiny’s Child, the world’s top-selling female group, will continue her relationship with Columbia Records in her ongoing role in the iconic ensemble.

Because Columbia Records has been my home base as an artist for more than a decade, the decision to move out on my own required a lot of soul-searching,” said Kelly Rowland. “As a solo artist, I felt the need to explore new directions, new challenges, and new freedoms outside my comfort zone and my friends and family at Columbia have been incredibly understanding about my evolution. I want to thank everyone at Columbia for the love and support they’ve shown and I will never forget how many good times we’ve had over the years.”

“Kelly Rowland is one of our finest contemporary artists and a musical force to be reckoned with,” said Rob Stringer, CEO, Columbia/Epic Label Music Group. “It has been a privilege and a pleasure to work with Kelly and we will continue our working relationship with her under the Destiny’s Child moniker. The decision for Kelly to seek other opportunities for her solo career was agreed upon mutually, and any reports to the contrary are false.”

But is all of this change healthy for Kelly's solo efforts?

I think so! Kelly's success was constantly being overshadowed. Many don't know that both of Kelly's solo efforts went platinum and maintained tremendous success over seas.

So professionally dissociating herself from the Knowles will take Kelly to the next level of superstardom.

Gosh I'm aiming to get mine...hatings hard work...so why are these lames doing it for free?

Mrs. Knowles-Carter is also on the cover of the upcoming Seventeen Magazine. Within the issue Beyonce discusses the beginnings of her relationship with rap mogul, Jay-z, and there obvious age difference.




In a recent interview with People Magazine, Beyonce discussed her mothers effect on her fashion sense.

Beyoncé’s sense of style comes from a source close to home – her mother Tina, who owned a hair salon and taught the young Beyoncé how to dress well and save money.

“She’d get us little jackets and we’d go to an art supply store and we’d get stones and glitter and we’d personalize a lot of our clothes,” Beyoncé, 27, said in an interview in the premiere issue of The New York Observer Style. “She taught me the importance of looking good and feeling good but also that beauty comes from within, because it fades.”

Mrs. Carter was also her husband's suprise guess at the Powerhouse concert. Bey shimmed on stage giving the crowd a snippet of her single "Single Ladies" and flashing her ring.

Oh yeah, speaking of Powerhouse in NYC... the talk of the town was Will Wayne Show. O--Yes he did!!

Word is that Jay-Z had a talk with Wayne in regards to him being a No Show @ Powerhouse in Boston.....as sources are saying Wayne opted out the show at the last moment because- he doesn't do metal detectors. Which is quite believable because he also didn't perform at Fashion Rock's for the same reason.
I am a Wayne head--so the self-proclaimed Martian does no wrong in my book, but word on the grapevine is that Wayne is missing shows left and right due to intoxication<--which sounds like B.S to me-> because people live high..so don't blame the drugs and word from Wayne's camp is-> he isn't as high as the media portrays him to be.

The Premiere For SOUL MEN kicked off this week- the movie will be in theateres everywhere this FRIDAY!

Soul Men stars Samuel L Jackson, the late Bernie Mac and the late Isaac Hayes.
Directed by Malcolm D. Lee, the movie is about the reformation of a legendary soul singing band after the death of their leader.

The Premiere had a nice turn out- John Legend, Malik Yoba, Bernie Mac's wife and Daughter......

Ciara was named Billboard's Woman Of Of The Year today in NYC.


In an interview with Hot 97's Angie Martinez, Ciara was asked her opinion of Beyonce's single "If I Were A Boy", she replied " mean it’s a cool song…The Song Is Different But It Does Have The Same Concept Of Mines She Looks Beautiful In The Video I Will Say That"!

In the same interview she stated that her album is being pushed back to January or Febuary.



In my opinion Ciara and Beyonce' are on 2 totaly different plateau's. It's like a gourmet burger being compared to a #1 at Mickey Deez--both are good, ones just better! (yes I am coppin both albums)
